Central Station is a community centre in the heart of Winkler. We have a drop-in space that is open Monday – Friday and offer a variety of programs year round. We work closely with the Winkler & District Food Cupboard and Cafe 545 Community Meal as we believe food brings people together! We are a hub that can help connect community members to the resources they’re needing.
The people who come through our doors; the people who support the work we do through volunteering, donating, or partnering with us; and you – the people who show an interest in Central Station by taking the time to check our website. Below is some information about us; who we are; our mission, vision and values; and how we came to be here in Winkler. Please feel free to browse, take a look at the calendar and program information to see what is going on and get in touch with us for more information. We hope to meet you soon!
Central Station offers support, connections, and programs for our community.
We provide a place of belonging, hope and support (physically, emotionally and spritually) so that individuals and families can thrive.
We are guided by our faith to build strong relationships, creating a safe and welcoming environment for all. We advocate for support and provide hope and mentorship to those seeking skills and connection.

The ARC Program supports both adults and youth in the Winkler, RM of Stanley, and Garden Valley School Division areas who are facing challenges that may place them at risk of justice involvement.
Re-START helps adults through a coordinated, multi-agency approach that connects them with the right services, builds individualized support teams, and guides them toward personal goals for stability and growth. Referrals come from Manitoba Justice, policing agencies, community organizations, or self-referral.
START Youth is a voluntary, consent-based program that works with youth and their families to identify needs, access community resources, and build ongoing supports through collaboration between agencies.
Both programs use the START model — a client-centred, trauma-informed, and culturally inclusive approach that helps individuals navigate challenges and create positive change.
Central Station Community Centre took over the property management duties for the Central Community Homes units beginning in January of 2018. Additionally, we have taken on the management of the 65 Manitoba Housing units in Winkler as of August 2018.
The Social Housing program provides low-income Manitobans in the greatest need with subsidized housing. Manitoba Housing and Central Community Homes have a limited supply of rental properties and therefore applicants are housed based on core housing needs. This includes affordability, suitability, and adequacy of your current housing situation.
